How It Works
Everything runs on a system. Nothing is left to chance.
From the first enquiry to every week after a child starts: here’s exactly how Signal works.
- 8 students max per class
- 90-minute lessons
- A report home every week
01 / The journey
The enrolment journey
Step 1
Reach out
Fill in the enquiry form or call a centre directly. A year level, a subject, and a preferred centre is all it takes to start.
Step 2
In touch within 24 hours
Questions answered, and the right program recommended based on the actual situation, not a generic package.
Step 3
Assessment
Every new student is individually assessed, so they start in the right level from day one, not just placed by school year.
Step 4
Placement confirmed
Class, day, time, and everything a child needs to bring, confirmed before the first lesson.
Step 5
First class
A child meets their tutor and classmates and sees the Signal system firsthand.
02 / The week
A drumbeat every family can rely on.
The system isn’t a promise, it’s a schedule. This is the rhythm every Signal family runs on.
Every lesson. Long enough to teach a skill, practise it, and consolidate it.
Homework checked, progress observed, and a written report home.
Your child’s tutor calls home. Progress gets discussed, not discovered.
Miss a class? Swap into another class that same week, free, whenever there’s a seat.
03 / The classroom
Inside the classroom
- Maximum 8 students. Small by design. Every student gets individual attention. Nobody slips through unnoticed.
- Every student called on by name. No passive sitting. Every student is actively engaged through the class.
- Skills taught before anything is attempted. Every skill is demonstrated by the tutor first, broken into layers before practice begins.
- Every student monitored. Tutors circulate while students work. If a child is struggling, it gets caught in the room.
- Mistakes corrected together. Every answer gets corrected as a class. Students leave knowing exactly what to work on.
04 / Progress
Progress monitoring
- Placed by ability, not year level. Every new student is assessed before being placed, so the work is at the right level from the start.
- Continuously monitored. Tutors track engagement, performance, and readiness to move up, every week, not just at report card time.
- Parents told, not asked. If a child is ready to move up, or needs more time at the current level, that gets communicated. No need to chase it.
- A weekly observation report. Homework, in-class performance, and what to focus on next, in writing.
- Topic assessments. A formal assessment closes every major topic, with results shared with parents.
Students who show up and do the work get recognised for it.
Every week, a student earns points for completed homework. Points build into rewards a student actually looks forward to.
And it shows: students who complete homework consistently make faster progress.
